Trust score: 18. Several reasons to pause.

The promise of guaranteed returns and pressure to act quickly deserve a closer look. Open the badge to see the evidence and what to check before sending money.

A convincing profile can still raise questions.

Copied posts, unusual engagement and suspicious links can be reasons to look closer. A familiar name or a polished bio does not tell you who is behind an account.

xlegit brings public signals together in a 0–100 trust score and explains what contributed to it. Community reports appear separately. When a published assessment is available, you can read it on the profile or see its badge while browsing with Pro.

A few checks. A more informed choice.

  1. 01.

    Install the extension

Add xlegit to Chrome to look up existing public scores. Sign in when you want to scan a profile or submit a community report. Your inbox is never read automatically.

  2. 02.

    Check a profile

Read the score and a guide to scams, identity, useful content and bait. Free scans collect public posts as you scroll; Pro can fetch them automatically. Both use the same analysis. Free includes 5 scans a day, up to 30 per month.

  3. 03.

    Follow the evidence

Check a post before replying, or open Investigate to compare identities, inspect a link or look at a conversation. Read the sources and what remains unknown. Save a useful view, or send context if we missed something.

Four things worth knowing about a profile.

Is the request suspicious? Does the identity add up? Is there something useful here? Is it trying to provoke you? Your profile guide explains each area in everyday language, with what to check next. Both plans cover all four.

Free + Pro

Spot suspicious requests

Check for risky links and scam patterns in profiles. Post checks explain requests for secrets, upfront fees, guaranteed profits or pressured support actions. Inspect a link or selected conversation when you need more context.

Free + Pro

Look closer at identity

See when names, handles or changing profile details deserve a second look. Get a practical way to check the identity through a trusted source. Compare the account with a reference you choose, including websites and recorded identity changes.

Free + Pro

Find voices worth your time

See whether sampled posts add specific observations and answers or mostly repeat generic material. Choose your interests in Investigate and compare scanned profiles for topic fit. Useful writing is a reason to explore, not a promise that a claim is true.

Free + Pro

Give bait less of your attention

Check rage bait and clickbait before replying or sharing. Both plans offer Feed guard and optional reply nudges. Pro adds Focus mode to collapse checked bait, with Show post to undo it.

Start manually. Automate when you want.

Select Check post for a suspicious request or bait, or turn on Feed guard in Settings. Free includes 15 checks a day, up to 10 automatic. Pro includes 200. Reply nudges, link warnings and Focus mode reuse that result. Optional destination inspection uses a separate investigation check.

You stay in control.

All automations start off. Checks assess visible text and can be wrong; they do not verify claims or change account scores. Link guard can optionally inspect redirect headers and domain records; it does not scan page contents. Your inbox and drafts are never read automatically. See what is collected.

A warning should help you do something.

Open Investigate in the extension when you want more context. See what we noticed, the evidence behind it, and a sensible next step. You can read the sources and make up your own mind.

“Is this really their account?”

Compare it with a reference account you choose. Put the names, websites and identity history side by side, then follow the sources to check the relationship.

“Where does this link actually go?”

Inspect redirects and available domain records before opening a link. Compare the address with the website you expected. We tell you when a destination could not be checked.

“Does this conversation feel wrong?”

Choose the messages you want checked. Look for requests for secrets, pay-first offers, repeated fees and pressure that can be easy to miss one message at a time.

“Who has something useful to say?”

Tell us what you want to read about. Compare scanned profiles for relevant detail, concrete examples and repetitive promotion. Topic fit stays separate from account trust.

“Are these accounts connected?”

Look for shared destinations and matching passages in the accounts you select. Open the original posts to distinguish a useful connection from a quotation or an ordinary shared link.

“What changed since I last looked?”

Review changes between retained scans, or use Pro to monitor up to 20 accounts. Before-and-after notices help you spot a new website, a changed name or bio, or a handle that now belongs to a different account.

Here is what an explanation sounds like.

“This reply asks for your sign-in code while claiming to be support. We haven’t verified who controls the account. Open the company’s app directly to contact support.”

Illustrative example. Real findings link to the available evidence and show when it was collected.

There is room to say we got it wrong.

A quotation can look like a request. A legitimate rebrand can look suspicious. Send missing context from any investigation and follow the operator’s response. Reviewed corrections help us improve our evaluations.

Your investigations are private. Free includes the evidence and explanations. Pro gives you more checks, saved comparisons, exports and scheduled monitoring.

Profile tools use retained scans; scan an account first. Monitoring compares each account’s name, website, bio and handle about once a day, subject to provider availability and budgets, and can reuse cached data. It does not read posts. Notices appear in your investigation workspace. A check can miss something or get it wrong, and never certifies an account or offer as safe.

Learn from a voice you enjoy. Build your own.

A useful account can be a source of ideas, too. After an eligible scan, see its recurring topics, tone and writing formats. Then open the growth workspace to explore what those patterns could look like with your own experience.

Understand the style

See whether the sample is practical, analytical, conversational or something else, alongside the topics and formats that recur. Open the writing sample to judge for yourself.

Bring something of your own

Choose your audience and topic, then add facts or observations you can stand behind. Get a voice guide, editable starting drafts and feedback on a draft you submit.

Try a manageable week

Plan a few posts and decide what useful responses would look like. Compare with your own account if you have scanned it. Review the outcome before deciding what to keep.

Both plans include topics, tone and the growth workspace. Free plans up to three posts per week; Pro plans up to seven and can save or export the work. Each plan or draft review shares your investigation allowance. You edit and copy drafts yourself; nothing is posted automatically.

Jev identifies patterns and reviews selected text. Starting drafts use writing templates and your notes. Topic and tone are separate from trust. Short samples or unavailable analysis stay unknown, and a style match cannot promise followers, reach or revenue.

See why a profile received its score.

xlegit checks six areas: account details, post originality, posting patterns, audience, engagement and profile images. Open a badge to see the available evidence behind its 0 to 100 score. A dashed preview is still waiting for publication checks. Published scores are estimates and cannot guarantee that an account is genuine.

  • 70–100 · fewer warning signs
  • 30–69 · uncertain
  • 0–29 · stronger concerns
  • Serious evidence can set score to zero

Investigation checks (5 Free / 60 Pro daily), post checks and profile scans have separate allowances. Monitoring shares Pro’s investigation allowance and leaves ten slots for manual use; optional guarded-link inspection also uses investigation checks. Source evidence is included without using a slot. Manual and automatic post checks share the daily total, resetting at midnight UTC. Free automation leaves five slots for manual use. Automations start off. Reply nudges, link warnings and Focus mode reuse an existing post check. Requires the updated extension. Checks may pause when service capacity is reached.

* Free and Pro scans use the same server analysis. Pro also includes additional analysis on demand. Chips appear for profiles with a published score that has passed evidence and observer checks. Private previews are not shown in the timeline. No card needed for Free. Pro is coming soon. Pricing will be announced at launch.

Common questions

Learn what the score means, how profile and post checks work, and what data we collect. For more detail, read how scoring works or visit the privacy policy.

Post checks & plans

Can I learn from another account’s topics and tone?

Yes. Eligible profile scans describe recurring topics, tone and formats from sampled own posts. In the growth workspace, choose a scanned reference, your audience and topic, and add your own notes. Get a voice guide, editable starting drafts, a weekly content plan and feedback on a draft. Free plans up to three posts a week; Pro supports seven, saves and exports. Each plan or draft review uses the shared investigation allowance. Jev classifies patterns; starting drafts use templates and your notes. You review and copy the text yourself. We do not post for you or promise follower growth.

What can I do in Investigate?

Inspect the evidence behind a profile, compare identities, check a link’s redirects and domain records, assess selected messages, compare topic fit, or explore connections between accounts. Free includes five investigation checks a day; Pro includes sixty. Viewing the source evidence behind a scan has its own allowance of 20 views a day on Free and 200 on Pro; previous results do not use a check. These allowances are separate from profile scans and individual post checks, and reset at midnight UTC.

How does account monitoring work?

Pro can monitor up to 20 accounts after a scan establishes their X account IDs. About once a day, subject to provider availability and budgets, we compare the latest available name, website, bio and handle with the previous check. Monitoring does not read posts and does not use your investigation checks. X data may be cached. If the handle starts pointing to a different X account, monitoring pauses until you acknowledge the new account or stop monitoring. Before-and-after notices appear in Investigate; we do not email them. Stop monitoring at any time. A change does not by itself prove a scam or takeover.

What do Jev post checks detect?

Suspicious requests for passwords or sign-in codes, upfront fees, guaranteed profits and pressured support actions, alongside rage bait and clickbait. The explanation tells you what deserves a closer look and what to do next. Select Check post, or enable Feed guard for automatic checks. These checks read visible text, not linked articles, and do not verify identity or change the account score.

How do the Free and Pro post-check limits work?

Free includes 15 post checks per UTC day, with up to 10 automatic checks. Manual and automatic checks share those 15 slots, so automation cannot use the five reserved for manual checks. Pro includes 200 post checks per UTC day, shared between manual checks and Feed guard. These are separate from profile-scan limits. Reused results and failed checks do not use another slot. Checks may pause when service capacity is reached.

What extra control does Pro add?

Both plans include optional pause-before-replying nudges on checked bait. Pro adds Link guard before opening external links in checked suspicious posts, plus Focus mode to collapse checked rage bait or clickbait. Show post restores a collapsed post; opened posts and your Never hide list are preserved. These actions reuse the assessment without consuming another check. All automations start off and can be enabled in Settings in the updated extension.

Trust & account

What if an investigation misses some context?

Choose “Did we miss some context?” on the report and explain what happened—for example, a quotation, a parody account or a legitimate request. An operator reviews it, and you can read the response in Investigate. Accepted corrections enter our evaluation workflow. Submitting feedback does not automatically change anyone’s public score.

Is this against X’s rules? Can I get banned?

xlegit does not post, like, follow or mute on your behalf. Free scans collect public evidence as you scroll. Our server uses the X API to check evidence and collect posts for Pro scans. X decides how it enforces its own rules, and xlegit is not affiliated with X Corp.

Is xlegit affiliated with X / Twitter?

No. xlegit is built independently and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp. We are simply a Chrome extension that runs in your browser.

How do I dispute or remove my score?

Use the dispute form if a score describes your account. Include the handle and explain what needs correcting. We acknowledge requests within 72 hours and decide within 30 days. You can also ask us to withhold your score. Once we verify the request, the badge will show that the score was withheld. Open the dispute form.

Which browsers does it work in?

Desktop Chrome and other Chromium browsers: Edge, Brave and Arc. Firefox and Safari are not supported yet, and the xlegit extension is not supported on phones. Public profile reports work in mobile browsers.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, from the extension popup → Settings → Delete account. That removes your email, sessions, reports, private post-check audits, investigation history, saved views, monitoring, corrections and automation records, and cancels your subscription.

When will Pro be available?

Pro is coming soon. We will announce pricing when it launches. Pro helps pay for analysis, hosting and continued development. It adds 60 daily investigation checks, saved comparisons, exports, monitoring for up to 20 accounts, 200 daily post checks, Link guard, reversible Focus mode, timeline badges, deep analysis and score history. Free includes 5 profile scans a day, up to 30 per month, plus 5 investigation checks and 15 post checks daily, up to 10 automatic post checks, reply nudges and community reports.

Refunds and cancelling?

Cancel anytime from the extension popup → Settings → Manage subscription. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. At checkout you ask us to start the service immediately, which under EU consumer law ends the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for that period. Separately, we offer a refund if you email support@xlegit.xyz within 14 days of any payment.

The score

What does the score mean?

0–100, higher is better. Below 30 means the scan found stronger concerns, 30–69 is mixed or uncertain, and 70 and above means fewer warning signs in the evidence checked. A high score does not verify identity or an offer. Tap any badge to see the six-dimension breakdown that produced the number. It is an estimate from public signals, not a verdict on anyone.

How accurate is the score?

It is an estimate from the evidence available, and it can miss things or misread context. We show reasons, source dates and uncertainty so you can check the finding yourself. We do not claim a measured real-world accuracy rate. Read the algorithm.

Why does the badge say Preview?

A preview is a score that has not passed the checks needed for publication. We calculate it on our server and show it only to the person running the scan. It stays private until the evidence and its sources meet those checks.

Does xlegit only look for bait?

No. The profile guide looks at four things: scam concerns, identity and impersonation clues, useful original content, and rage bait or clickbait. Each part explains what stood out and what you can check next. Both Free and Pro include these core checks. We keep community reports separate so you can read them alongside the automated assessment.

Can it help me find profiles worth following?

Yes. Choose an interest in Investigate and compare profiles you have scanned. The guide points out relevant detail, concrete examples and repetitive promotion in the available samples. Free can save one interest view; Pro can compare more accounts and interests. Relevance depends on your interests: useful writing does not verify a claim, prove expertise or cancel a scam warning.

How should I use an impersonation warning?

Treat it as a reason to check who the account represents. Similar names, look-alike handles or changing profile details can raise a question, but they do not prove impersonation. Follow the account link from the person’s or organisation’s own website. A badge, a familiar photo or a high trust score is not identity verification.

Privacy & your data

Does xlegit read my DMs?

xlegit never reads your inbox or drafts automatically. The conversation tool only checks messages you deliberately paste and submit. It may look up participant handles to show existing scores in Messages. Profile scans collect public profile details and posts separately.

Does xlegit see my posts?

Profile scans exclude your own account and collect public evidence about the profile you choose to check. Individual post checks separately send the visible text of a post you select, or that Feed guard checks when enabled. Automatic scanning and Feed guard start off. Looking up an existing score may send a handle without new post text.

What data leaves my browser?

A scan can send public profile details and up to 100 posts to our server. Public profile evidence is retained to support historical scores and review. If you enable automatic scanning, the extension can also send profile and header observations while you browse. Handles may be sent to look up existing scores even with scanning off. Post checks send visible post text to xlegit and TypeSafe AI. We retain the text, assessment and reported automation actions in a private audit until account deletion. Investigation history and corrections are kept for 30 days or until you delete them; saved views and monitoring remain until removed. Investigation tools separately send the messages, interests, handles or URLs you submit. Conversation and interest checks use TypeSafe. Link inspection contacts the destination from our server without your cookies. Your inbox and drafts are never read automatically. Read the privacy policy.

Which AI does xlegit use?

Free and Pro profile scans combine available Grok analysis, TypeSafe Jev assessments and image checks on our servers. Jev also helps check individual posts for scam requests and bait. The results are explained in everyday language, with uncertainty and practical next steps. Post warnings do not change account scores. All of these models can make mistakes.

What happens to my email?

We store your address for sign-in links, account emails and messages you choose to receive. The service providers listed in our privacy policy process it to run these services, including Resend for sending email. We do not sell your email address.

Know more before you trust, follow or reply.

Start free with clear explanations, source evidence, 15 daily post checks and five daily investigations. Compare identities, check suspicious messages and find profiles that fit your interests. Pro is coming soon with more checks, saved comparisons, exports, account monitoring and optional feed controls.
